The Internet is full of contents which can distract users from their important tasks. Instead of researching something for a project, they can end up looking over funny pictures or an interesting game. With iNet Protector, you can establish various rules regarding how and when a user can access something on the Internet. It can disable the Internet connection on demand or according to a timetable. Additionally, the application is capable of blocking websites and allowing only specific programs and services to connect to the Internet.

iNet Protector is free to try, without any functionality restrictions. It can be installed in a few moments, without making any complex settings regarding your network or Internet connection. The application does not require any additional tools or services and it does not use too many resources.

The best part about iNet Protector is that you don't need any special knowledge or skills to use it. The application provides a compact user interface, with clear and easy to understand options. You can block or resume the Internet connection right away, with only a single click. Additionally, you can set up a timetable, a timer and daily quotas, on separate windows.

To set up a timetable, you have to mark a series of cells in a grid, which correspond to specific hours and days of the week. The application also allows you to define timetables for individual Windows user accounts. Another way to limit access to the Internet is to set daily quotas. Just like the timetables, quotas can be established for all or individual user accounts. You can specify how many hours and minutes the connection should be active for each day of the week. If you wish to allow access to the Internet outside of an established timetable or after a daily quota has been used up, you can set up a timer, to allow the connection for a certain number of hours and minutes.

Other restrictions can be established on a tabbed settings menu. You can choose what programs and services should be allowed to connect to the Internet. It is also possible to add websites to white and black lists and compile a list of allowed IP addresses. Additionally, the application can be set to block changes to the system time, to display a warning a few minutes before it disables the Internet connection and more. When launched for the first time, iNet Protector will ask you to create a master password and it will ask you for that password each time you reactivate the Internet connection or access the settings panel, the scheduler or other features.

Pros

iNet Protector's functions are well organized and easy to understand. The application allows you to block the Internet connection on demand or according to a schedule, a timer or daily quotas. You can set up exceptions for programs, services, websites or IP addresses.

Cons

There are no obvious issues that need to be addressed. iNet Protector gives you full control over your Internet connection. It allows you to decide when a user can connect to the Internet, what applications he can use and which websites he can visit.
